SANTIAGO DE CHILE:
Post cruise/ day-tour.
Explore the capital of Chile and see the contrast between the old historic downtown area and one of the most modern cities in South America.
This tour can be booked post cruise or as a day-tour (transfer). If you have a return flight on the same day, the flight departure should not be earlier than 8 pm.
After the pickup at the cruise terminal we drive directly to the capital of Santiago de Chile. A metropolitan area where almost 40% of the countries inhabitants live.
First we will focus on the old historic part of town. We will see the famous Santa Lucía hill, where the city was founded by Spanish in 1541. On our walk you will visit the San Francisco church, the oldest remaining building of the city, the area Paris-London, as well as the old stock exchange.
From $120 USD (no prepaid needed).
A highlight will be the governments house La Moneda, which became famous during the military coup in 1973. A short walk through the bustling pedestrian area finishes at Plaza de Armas, a square of numerous historic buildings as for example the Cathedral of Santiago.
Before continuing by bus to the modern business district, we will visit the well-known fish market Mercado Central. Depending on time we will ascent San Cristobal hill by bus or by cable car, and reach a panoramic 360-degree overview on the city.
Lunch is not included in the tour, but you will have the time and different culinary options to enjoy a break. In the late afternoon, we will arrive at your final destination (cruise terminal, hotel, etc.).
